FAQ’s

What do I need to do to be able to join?

You need to be able to play duplicate bridge and give us a call.

What standard do I need to be to join ?

We do have a very good mix of standards and we are very welcoming to our new members.
Don’t worry if you are a little rusty or you are a beginner who can play a basic game of duplicate bridge. However, If you can play at a good level we do have some very experienced players in our club who will enjoy the challenge of playing against you.
If you can’t play at all then we are sorry but you will need to learn before you can join, as we can’t teach and play at the same time.

Do you play for EBU points?

No we don’t.

Do you play ACOL or Standard American?

Our members all play different systems in agreement with their partners.

Do you have any club rules?

Yes we do …but they are only what you’d expect from any club, and will be provided to all new members.

Do I need a partner ?

Yes you do, but if you haven’t got one and another person has also approached us without a partner, with your consent we can put you in touch with each other, so you can meet up and decide if you are both a good fit.

Do I have to attend every week?

No, we do understand that you might be doing things other than playing bridge, but as a small club we would expect you to attend fairly regularly. Members do come most weeks as that is good for the club and for the player.

Do you hold any social events?

Yes, twice a year we meet up for a meal and then play bridge for fun afterwards … with prizes for the winners and for the losers!
